Experimenting with new and different healthy foods is fun and challenging!
Researching new and different healthy foods and cooking methods keeps me challenged and motivated to eat healthy. I love reading the SparkPeople articles and recipes to learn more about healthy foods and experimenting with new recipes.
Focus on foods that you can ADD to your diet and not just those you should cut down on. I've experimented with lots of low calorie foods and SP recipes that were new to me and found some new favourites as my tastes have changed. Making this journey an adventure is more motivating than deprivation.
I NEVER liked veggies. I learned that they like me. Eating more vegetables made me FEEL better - the weight loss was just icing on the cake. Veggies fill you up, give your body what it needs, fiber, vitamins. Eating less processed foods makes you feel lighter, less sluggish.
Eat veggies or fruit with every meal. Make vegetables the bulk of your diet, you get more volume wise while consuming less calories. Try new veggies, experiment with new recipes (right here on Sparks). It's win-win cycle, eat better feel better and you'll let go of the junk food that wears you down.
