Once A Week Cooking...

I try to cook once a week - normally Saturdays - for the week. It is just my daughter and I and so what I do is I will make several meals at once. Then portion them into those seal and save bags. Stick them in the freezer and pull them out for lunch or dinner during the week.

You will need to keep a sink of soapy water ready to wash your dishes, and have some freezer bags ready to go. I save a lot of time at lunch and dinner - we just pick a meal, nuke it, and eat! The best part is clean up and we are both happy at mealtimes cuz we pick our frozen dinner!

    I usually do this once or twice a month. I cook 3-4 double batches of foods that freeze well. I pre-freeze things with sauces and then transfer into vacuum seal bags (so that the vacuum doesn't suck out the sauce/juice) and then I have lots of single serving meals. I take these for lunch and use them for dinner. Healthy meals in a hurry and no cooking every day. Who has the time to cook daily!

    I so agree and do this! I work Mon - Fri full time days, my hubby works evenings and we have four kids! So I spend one day a weekend cooking for the week, it saves me time during the week, I have about half an hour with my hubby before he leaves, and I have more energy to deal with my two little kids!
