Laundry Soap manufacturer's bank on the fact that people FOLLOW directions. If you read the bottle, it says to use 1 cap full for a large load.
I use half a cap in a large load and my clothes still smell fresh and are cleaned. It saves a lot of money too.

Experiment with your detergent to see what the smallest amount you can get away with is....in the olden days, they didn't even use soap! Just rocks and the river. So don't allow yourself to be scammed.

me too and always add water at the end I get a few more washes of clothes that way too

Practice doing everything with 1/2 of the product you would normally use. For example: 1/2 the normal laundry soap ! Clothes will be just as clean and laundry soap wil last 2x as long with means you spent 1/2 as much on laundry soap !

I make my own laundry soap. It's not thick but it's helpful. This makes two gallons. Two gallons of hot water, 1 bar ivory soap, and a small box of baking soda. Grate and melt soap with a little bit of water. Mix the baking soda last thing.

A couple of years ago, I started making all of my laundry soap, dish soap and fabric softener. It costs pennies to make, works just as well and keeps all of that nasty packaging out of the trash. I've even made my own sugar scrub for a treat in the shower! There are lots of recipes for homemade products online - it's really worth the search ♥
