Organize a group weight loss or fitness challenge. For example, me and my sister just organized a family weight loss challenge that begins soon. The person who loses the most weight in x amount of time, is the winner! This is a great way to get positive support & get healthy!

Look for taining groups -- for instance, I lead training walks for the Komen 3-day For the Cure and there are myriads of other training groups like mine that always welcome any joiners in ( Leukemia isanother great group ) Moving and chatting is a great way to bond and to get/keep fit and happy

I do this with my two sisters but at a distance. I live in Dakar, one lives in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada) and the other in New York. It's fun to have some challenges like that.

Having 2 or more friends supporting each other together! I have some in a weight loss support group and a couple I meet at the gym weekly. There's certainly strength in numbers when you are losing weight!
Lately I have tried a new technique to focus on my body during strength training sessions. Right now I am doing 6 sets of 5 reps (trying to break yet another plateau) at a slightly higher weight than in the last few weeks. With each rep, I use a motivational word rather than a number that allow me to concentrate on form and strength. Like: health, power, strength, change and worth it. It really brings focus to the activity and the repetativeness makes harder exercises easier to complete!
Simply put, there is an amazing amount of support and encouragement here on Sparkpeople. The support you give others will come back to you 10fold when you least expect it and need it the most. Getting involved in various sparkteams will help keep you from derailing-or if your are off track can reel you back in.9
