I have found that deciding to have a good day in the beginning helps me to stay positive and have better days. I don't let the small issues throughout the day become big problems. I look at the big picture when I start to think negatively about the day.
Remembering that it is important to stay in the moment and reminding myself that the "bad" part of the day does not make the rest of the day a bad day is really helping me with motivation and my depression.

Develop a different attitude to make better choices.
Many of my diabetic friends seem to try to placate their sweet tooth. They try to find things that taste sweet but won't raise their blood sugar. My focus has to been to re-educate my palate to enjoy the right kinds of foods that will enhance my health.
