I've discovered that because I live single that buying one item of meat from my butcher saves me from over spending/waste/ and overeating. You'd be surprised how much easier it is to by one servering if ur single living over a whole pack you may throw out!
Instead of buying in bulk and being drawn to over eat especially if the food taste good, I go to my butcher, buy one chicken breast, 2 stuffed mushrooms or so on and so forth enough meat to go thru my meal plans for 2-3 days, by doing this i've lowered waste and saved money !

My favorite butcher shop will run specials on ground beef and bone/skin-less chicken breast in 10# bulk.
I buy 20# of ground beef and fry it all up in two hours. In batches, it has time to drain more fat off. The 10# of chicken breasts will fit in my crock pot. I spice it up and slow cook it. I package the meat up in 2 cup containers and freeze it. It saves meal prep time and dirty dishes.
I have a small deep freezer and sometimes it is hard to know what is in it, so I printed a list of everything that is in it and when I take something out or put something in I either add or subtract it.
This way when I look at the list for grocery shopping day and butcher day, I know what is exactly in there.
