I usually TIVO a lot of shows that I enjoy. In the morning at around 5:30 when I get up, I march in place and watch a show. Great way to start the day and also gets a lot of steps in before breakfast.

In the "old days", I would sit on the couch and watch NCIS. I did not want to leave that comfy couch until NCIS was over. Finally, I was kick started (by me) to get off the couch and walk on my treadmill. Well....NCIS is on most nights on some channel. So I look forward to keeping up on what is happening. And the best thing is that some of those 30 minutes walks have turned into 60, 90 or 120 minute walks so that I get to finish an episode.....and it sure hasn't hurt my cardio either!

I have started using dumbbells while watching TV. It only is upper body, but useful in stretching shoulders and arms, and useful in low-stress, lots of repititions. And if I do it while watching TV, I feel still relaxing and enjoying my evening, while getting low impact workout. Works for me!!
Fitness minutes without realizing you are doing them
I hava a Gazelle and to do my cardio I place my Gazelle in front of the tv and put on a good show. I do 60 minutes of cardio while watching my favorite show. Makes the time go by a little faster.
