For many years I took cigarette breaks to relieve stress at the office. I have been smoke free for one year 1/23/15. This alone relieved the stress of always wanting nicotine. I traded the cigarette break for a puzzle break. I have a jig saw puzzle that I can work on for a few minutes when I need to relax and not think for a minute or so.
I like that I can visually see progress toward the goal of conquering the puzzle.
When doing laundry instead of sitting on bed and folding it, I stand and put it on a table to fold, then instead of putting it in a basket and making one trip through the house, I make many trips to each room to put clean laundry away. Also when I am working on a jigsaw puzzle now, instead of sitting at a table, I put it on top of kitchen counter and stand to work on it to burn more calories.
