Even if you cook for only one or two buy the larger packs of meat, larger cans/packages of other foods and you can divide it up by portions or by quantity you usually use at once and freeze the rest or use in another recipe. This is much cheaper then buying smaller bags/cans or packages of meats.

Instead of buying those 100-calorie snack packs, make your own! I love shredded wheat, so I buy the family sized box and snack sized zip baggies and make my own snack packs. Healthy, low in fat and calories, filling, and less expensive.
