Trick Yourself Into Exercising

When I don't feel like exercising, I tell myself I'll just do 10 minutes of whatever. Then, after 10 minutes, I say 5 or 10 more. Then, before I know it 30 or 60 minutes have passed, and I am so glad I did it. I always feel so much better after exercise than before, plus I am proud of myself. emoticon

    I do this too. My goal is to do 30 minutes and now 3 miles every weekday. I'd tell myself that I just have to go to the gym and do 10 minutes because I can't skip a day and not show up. Once there I know I'll do my workout and feel much better about sticking to my goal and not missing a day :)

    After a while, exercise will become like eating for your body....The body will crave movement. You will feel a little off when you dont exercise ....I may not love to get
started...but I love how I feel once I have exercised. My day just goes better when I have a good workout...Nice idea for building the desire:-) ThX

    I like this and I also find people that I trick into going with or doing it with me..

    This is something I do when I'm on the treadmill! I'm gonna do 10 mins then when I get to 10 mins I say ok, I can do another 5, or 10 and keep it going until you hit 30 or more!

    A variation on this is when I am not sure I feel like running, I tell myself that I can do the 30 minutes as a walk. When I am warmed up, I almost always feel like at least doing intervals and often a real run.
