As soon as I unpack my groceries from my reusable grocery bags, I put the empty bags near the door that is on my way outside. This way I can grab them on the next trip out to the car and have them ready for my next shopping trip.
When I get to my favorite grocery store, there are large signs around the parking lots reminding customers not to forget their shopping bags.

This year I am using reusable bags from my grocery store as gift bags. They currently have some nice ones with a Christmas theme. They are not anymore expensive than the other gift bags and will be reusable.
Carry items in your arms or a basket and forgo the shopping cart for quick shopping trips. Or bring a reusable bag and only purchase what can fit into it. Not only does this limit the amount of items you can purchase, it also gives your arms a bit of a workout. 432
