Get Up From That Desk

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

I often spend hours sitting behind a desk. I will set my phone to chime every hour and remind me to get up and stretch, move and even do a few jumping jacks. I find that at the end of the day, if I will get up and move at least once every hour I don't feel near as "worn out" at the end of the day

I set an alarm on my PC at work, since I was there for hours on end.
Since being laid off, I need/will set one up here at home after I submit this.
for the reminder

ACOFFIN 7/12/2010 4:05:00 PM

True! I have to remind myself to get up and hit the restroom, or stretch or something. I have found that if I drink all that water, I will need to get up!

I have motion sensored lights in my office. Sometimes the lights go out on me because I've been in the same position for so long with making any movement in my office at all! Good suggestion.
