When you go to the mall for a shopping spree, spend the first 30 minutes just walking laps. Then when you begin your shopping, you will feel even better about buying new clothes, and you will probably spend less because you will be tired sooner and want to leave earlier!

The problem with walking laps in the mall, is it is too slow for me. I prefer to park as far away from the door as possible and walk in. It also means carrying purchases back out to the car, which can in itself be a deterrent.

When I go shopping I choose a super store and walk all of the aisles before I start shopping.

Mall walking is a great way to cool off a hot afternoon or warm up a cold winter day. Early morning is great not to many shoppers out yet. You can even take little breaks throughout the mall by taking advantage of the sitting areas.

Nice suggestion - I tend to go with my husband though; not sure he would love it. Nonetheless, something to take in mind.

Redrosemarie: Two thumbs up! Not only are you getting in some walking, you're also getting the chance to see what new products are on the shelf. I do this in the grocery store, oftentimes finding something to add to my cart I've never tried before (...like dragonfruit!).

I think this is a wonderful idea...great tip!

Walking inside is like driving a Dodge-em car! Get outta the way! BEEP-BEEP I'm one to park as far away as I can get and get in a little cardio coming and going!
