A treadmill desk allows you to walk slowly while you work. Research at the Mayo Clinic and other places shows that not only do you burn extra calories, but you are more productive! If you walk 1 mph for 6 hours you burn an extra 600 calories a day - enough to lose an additional pound a week!

Standing desks burn a lot of calories. You can build them easily for your treadmill (the best standing desk) or you can put your laptop on the counter while working. Take the time to move between sitting and standing while at your computer to keep the blood flowing, increase posture, and get some extra exercise. Your legs and back will thank you.
Before I get up I make a plan, consider which exercises I will be doing to keep on track, have some lemon tea, then my protein drink, then either walk outside or hit the treadmill and I make sure either one or the other is done by noon since I rise late in the morning.
