I put my "workout" calendar on my desk. Each day I can cross off the workout when I've completed it. At the end of the week/ month I have a visual record of my accomplishments!
For example, right now I'm working the C25K training on MWF. On T and TH, I ride my bike to school then to strength training. W is yoga and S/Su are "group" activities (golf/ bicycle/ hike). . A successful week has at least 5 days crossed off! 248
There is a great site on the web called Meet Up. You can find a meet up for just about anything including fitness and healthy eating. These groups meet locally. It's a great site to meet folks who like to do similar activities as you. Hiking, biking, walking, vegetarian, clean eating or even a card game group. There are lots to choose from. Just go to meetup.com join and do a search for the activity that you like.
I use to try and force myself to use the eliptical machine and the treadmill. I did this because I knew it burned more calories and would be better for me than just walking. Well, I could rarely force myself to do it and would constantly just stop working out all together. Then I realized that those machines would could burn more calories BUT I would actually have to use them! So, I decided to just do what I enjoy... walking around the block... That's something that I'm able to stick to
Overall, any activity is better than no activity
