Measure out a specific amount of oatmeal, cereal, berries, etc into individual ziploc bags. Then in the mornings you aren't looking for measuring cups but know exactly how much you are eating.

Great idea, but why not do it in non-disposable containers so that weight loss also doesn't equal environmental damage?

I make my own 100 calorie packs of food by rebaging the whole thing into single serving. As most of the 100 calorie packages are lower calorie just packaged into a set serving size.
I use snack size zipper bags to make single serving size packages of snack foods such as pretzels. Since my family doesn't like brown rice, I cook a large amount and freeze single serving sizes for me. I do the same with cold cuts
