Having a "mantra" as I exercise helps me stay focused and determined. For example, I just tell myself whenever my inner whiner starts shouting "please stop" I yell back (in my head of course) "QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION" and it provides for better results because I stick to it!!!!

Create a mantra for yourself. Say it every chance you get. When you're pushing through your workout. When you're walking to the car. When you're looking at yourself in the mirror. When you need a boost.
I recently read an article in Glamour by Bethany Frankel about making your own personal mission statement and really living by it, and the one she said really resonated with me. Nobody can save you, you have to save yourself. So no matter what situation you're in, only you can get yourself out of it and make that change.
Use one of your favorite quotes or come up with one on your own. I made one of my own based on something I read in a book recently. I printed it out in big print and taped it to my computer at work and a couple places at home where I need it. My Mantra is: "I want to BE HEALTHY more than I want a bite of something unhealthy."
