If you have a spider or flying insect problem around your house, orange spray - or orange oil will get rid of them and keep them away. You can find orange oil at your local home improvement store.
I moved into a house on a lake that was overrun by spiders because the previous owner did not want to use pesticides that would contaminate the lake. So I heard that bugs don't like orange oil and started spraying my patio and outside of my home with it diluted in water and the spiders went away.

I use a simple solution of diluted ammonia and water in a spray bottle. It will kill flies and similar flying bugs. Just spraying flies with plain water will disable them long enough to swat. These are cheaper and less toxic than most bug products on the market.
