You don't have to know how to swim to benefit from water exercises. The arthritis doctor said that was the best thing for arthritis, so you get two in one that is if you are like me and you have the arthritis.

A lot of times I am not motivated, what works for me so I don't get distracted is to accomplish 1-3 small goals per day. For example, Drink 8 glasses of water, exercise, and do Spark people. After that, I give myself a small reward. I use this for other things as well, not just exercising. 248
If you have an injury or something that keeps you from doing your normal exercise find something else to do. With a hip injury I found a cardio machine at my gym that you pedaled with your hands and still got a great workout. I also did lots of water exercises. But I didn't stop working out even though I couldn't run or even hardly walk.
