I try to follow Dr Oz's rule of thumb...drink a cup of water each time you drink a cup of coffee..

I wonder why. After all, coffee is mostly water. I read in Dr, Oz's book that coffee has lots more anti-oxidants than just about anything else. He seemed to recommend drinking several cups a day unless you can't because of high blood pressure ---but then, I guess you could drink decaf. I drank a lot of coffee in college, but usually prefer tea now. However, recently I started to make instant coffee. I know coffee connoisseurs will gasp at that. When I was growing up, my father was the only coffee drinker in the house, so he always drank instant rather than brew a whole pot for himself. So I got used to instant. I like it because I can heat water in the microwave and have a cup within a few minutes. I mix about half regular and half decaf, except at night when I drink all decaf. I add about 1/3 c. vanilla fat-free soy milk. It isn't nearly as good as brewed, but it warms me up on cold days and keeps me awake if I have to drive when I haven't gotten enough sleep. - by STORMY724
