Find a friend who is already exercising and join in with them to walk, join a gym, or swim. I would not have tried these activities on my own but now I have started, having a friend to exercise with is wonderful, but I no longer mind going on my own. When I started to get healthy with my eating, I would go crazy when my partner didn't want to eat the things I did. He'd cringe over vegetables, wanted a hamburger instead of a black bean burger, and wouldn't go near fruit and veggie smoothies. After exhausting myself with trying to force my partner to take on my new habits, I just let go, did my own thing, and let him eat what he wanted.
After a while, he even showed interest in healthy eating because of my motivation! So, show by example, not just talking.
