Find a place N Ur yard that U can block with a hedge. Behing the hedge U can make your own mulch. U don't need a fancy machine nor will U have 2 buy any mulch after your first season. There is no fancy formula 2 remember, just 1/2 & 1/2: Half Green, half brown. Shredded newspaper & used paper N the
house (no glossy pages) R considered brown. Lawn clippings R obviously green. Coffe grounds w/ filter, cleaned, crushed egg shells, tea leaves w/ bag, old veggies (make sure they R not rotten) and other peeled veggies work great. No meat or fat, but fish leavings are fine if not fried. Limit citrus.

Before you spread mulch in areas without a lot of perennials, spread 3-5 sheets of newspaper down and add the mulch. No weeds all summer, water gets through and it's not bad on the soil. It will decompose by next year. . 14612667
I have started a herb garden in addition to my veggie garden[with flowers outlining it!] and since my hubby mulched the herb garden for me, those weeds are being stifled and much LESS showing UP! So, it's off to the garden supply store to get mulch for the rest of the veggie garden now! Am planning to show photos in my gallery of the gardens as they progress! The mulching also SAVES WATER as it helps to keep the ground moist so LESS WATER is needed!
Newspaper weeds away Start putting in your plants, work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspapers, put layers around the plants overlapping as you go cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will g et through some gardening plastic they will not get through wet newspapers.
