Find ways where you can make small changes to get big results. For instance, when cooking, substitute whole milk with skim milk. save 56 calories. Do that every day, save over 3500 calories on the week... that could mean losing 50lbs a year! Where else can we make those little steps?
Like a drink now and then, but don't want to abstain while you are working on your weight goal? Modify your drink. Substitute diet pop or club soda for your usual mixer, and save up to 100 calories per 8 oz of pop. Every other drink have water with ice and lemon, and cut the calories yet again!
If you have a hard time drinking water and don't find it satisfying because you're a little hungry try eating ice. It gives you the feeling of eating but it has no calories, and it helps you get to the 8 glasses a day. I like to use crushed ice so that it's not hard on my teeth to eat it. 274
Or you can let it ice melt with out actually chewing it...I think eating ice is bad for teeth but I love it and can't seem to stop :D
When I want a cookie, or ice cream or come other sweet that will knock me off track, I look at the nutritional info. Usually its something crazy high for such a small amount and I remind myself that for that many calories I could find something way healthier. If I REALLY must have it, then I work around it.
Don't beat yourself up if you can't resist, but the whole point is to think twice before you pop something in your mouth.
