If I journal my intake everyday, it helps me stay on track. You need to honest about everything you eat for the day. I really like the SparkPeople guide, when you are not eating enough protein, carbs, etc. Very helpfull.

We hear it all the time that we should not eat while watching TV or doing another task. I didn't really pay attention until I started journaling the food I eat. I ate faster and I ate more watching TV than at any other time!
Whenever I flounder, I always return to journaling my food. Every morsel that goes into my mouth is either measured and recorded, or guestimated to my best ability. While it takes some effort to do this, it brings awareness to what I am eating. Always helps drop the pounds! Always.
