I am just realizing the same thing. My daughter & grandaughter live with me & I found myself becoming enmeshed with their issues instead of taking care of myself.

What has helped me is a gratitude journal, I list out a few things everyday that I am thankful for--they are simple items, When asked I smile and say I am doing good and I have started to make plans for something to look forward to, short term and long term. This is such a simple yet effective positive factor for me! I get so caught up in cleaning and other household chores that sometimes the blinds will be drawn all day! I've learned I do MUCH BETTER and am in a much BETTER POSITIVE mood if I open the blinds!Even if the sun isn't shining, seeing the beauty of God's creation just lifts my spirits!
