instead of sitting on a chair while at your computer, sit on your exercise ball- it helps your core muscles and can burn up to 50 calories an hour, according to iVillage.

I like to take many smaller walks during the day with my dog Dave, It adds up to about two hours all told but I'm not too exhausted or straining myself when I break up the work outs. It helped me lose three pounds this week!

Not only that but it works on tightening your core!! I think that is an even better motivation!

Just make sure you're sitting at the proper height for your desk, or you'll cause back strain. I'm 5'2" so I have the smaller exercise ball. When I tried sitting on it to work at my desk, I found that I sat too low to work comfortably. After about 20 minutes I could feel the strain in my back and shoulders. The bigger exercise ball is too big for me, my legs are not at a right angle.
So, just to let you know that this tip doesn't work for everybody.

Way cool - I used to "borrow" a friend's - go in her office to consult & sit on her ball. Time to buy my own. And, thanks for the tips about getting the right height for you and your desk.
