A tangy, creamy ranch dressing made with fat free cottage cheese and low calorie powder ranch mix.
I used part of a packet of low calorie ranch dressing powder & used my submersion blender to smooth it out. Add a little h2o to get the consistency wanted. 1/2 cup serving of cottage cheese is about 80. So as long as you don't drown your food, you're way ahead of the game.
Use greek yogurt (which is fat free and high in protein) in place of cream, mayonnaise, and sour cream when you cook. Mix plain greek yogurt with ranch seasoning to enjoy fat free dip, and add a little skim milk to make a ranch dressing. It can be added to soups, sauces, dips, and drinks to add a little creaminess without the fat.
Forget veggie dip, sour cream, and low-fat ranch. I used to think I was being so good by choosing what I thought were better options. Instead: SALADS: olive oil/balsamic vinegar. Even better: plain yogurt. Try it, seriously. VEGGIE DIP: Just salsa, especially w/ celery. Even better: plain hummus.
