Having support systems when you're creating a healthy lifestyle is CRITICAL. Though family is important to share in your health journey everyone doesn't have that support. If that's the case, create your own support system by incorporating church members, friends, co-workers, other sparkers, support groups, strangers on the same journey, and the like. Your quality of life while making small & big changes can be greatly amplified with support of your endeavors.
My only secret is that my husband is doing is gym with me, so his mental help is big for me. So we do 45 minutes 5 times a week, him on his stationary bike and me on my treadmill and watching our favorite programs.
Although, I totally agree that message boards provide an AMAZING support system - I have been floored by how much support I have gotten from a simple "I need Help" on a Team Huddle board. SparkPeople is so vast and has so much to offer... it is best to try and get support and find ways to support others by checking out all avenues through the community!! 9252
