I love comfort food, and this book is full of delicious recipes. I ignore the meal plans and success stories and skip right to the recipes, and I even sometimes manage to make them a little lighter than it calls for (i.e. turkey instead of beef)
My favourite recipes so far have been the Bean and Pasta Soup and the Chicken Stuffing Bake. Oh, and the Lime Chicken Tacos. Oh, and the Berry Custard Parfaits! Oh wait, EVERYTHING is delicious!

Devin takes the food we love, ups the nutrition, lowers the calories and fat, and keeps it tasting just as good as the original. She wrote the Biggest Loser cookbooks, Fast Food Fix (which takes fast food favorites and makes them healthier), and The Most Decadent Diet Ever (my current favorite).
Without these cookbooks, I may be off the wagon by now. But she makes healthy food taste so good that I don't even want the junk any more!
I've learned to view food "as nutrition". As a means to a nutritional end. This is a huge"reframe" for me; food used to be about pleasure, comfort, and distraction. Food is now about NUTRITION.... I have learned to find pleasure, comfort, and distraction elsewhere....but food can still be fun!
I now THINK before I eat. I ask myself "Why am I eating this? For what purpose? And am I actually hungry?" If I am actually hungry, I plan food around my nutritional needs for the day and avoid "junk" foods except for the occasional splurge.
