Establish a reward cycle when you start to exercise by showering with an extravagant shower gel that you ONLY use after exercise. I did this when starting out and I still love to stand in the shower basking in the wonderful aroma, exercise endorphins, and the feeling of virtue and nurturing from taking care of myself by exercise. Add to the effect by smoothing on a matching body lotion and remember that feeling on into your day.
Associating pampering & other rewards with exercise reinforces your perception of exercise as an enjoyable activity, and increases the likelihood that it will become an enduring habit.

Reward yourself with a new type of exercise or sport, one that reinforces your weight-loss progress & fitness goals.
At each mini-goal I reach, I reward myself with a new exercise DVD--something different that I haven't tried yet or couldn't try because I wasn't fit enough. It gives me satisfaction to know I'm progressing enough to do new things, plus it keeps my interest piqued to vary my routines!
