I wrote a blog recently that truly summarizes my new philosophy.

Be kinder to yourself than you would be to others! You are the only you that you have! Don't worry about the scale, but whether you made a plan and stuck to it. Did you do something good for you today! That is way more important than any number on a scale or blood pressure cuff! Keep your streaks and be proud of the little things you do!!!! emoticon emoticon Cheer yourself on!!!

    Your comment rings true to me. Our voices in our head is with us 24/7 so our self talk has a lot of potential. If we're negative it's like cyber bullying and if we're positive it's like having our own cheering squad :)

    Good advice. As a Mom I spend so much of my effort trying to do things for others and to keep them happy. Then, subconsciously, I want them to do things to make me happy. Working on eliminating that behavior. I need to do things that make me happy. I am allowed to take the time to exercise for me - not to keep up with my husband. He runs half marathons. I w emoticon ill walk/run my first 5k this year.. I will NOT try to keep up with him. Good that he will be running the 10 k.
