Do bridges and planks instead of crunches to get rid of belly fat.

Doing crunches and other ab strengthening activities can sometimes make it look as though your waist is getting bigger, because it is. Muscle is growing beneath the fat, to get rid of the fat use exercises that tighten rather than crunch.
