Sneaking In Exercise

Simple everyday stuff to do...we all know them; I just have to remind myself to DO them.
- When folding towels from the basket, I walk the towel to the closet with each towel folded...burn up more steps than doing one at a time. Same thing with loading dishes into the dishwasher, etc.

MORE INFORMATION:
Being "efficient" (making one trip) doesn't maximize my exercise opportunities. So I make myself "less" efficient by making more trips. At grocery store, I make one full pass, pushing cart, with nothing in the basket...THEN I start shopping. Takes a few more minutes, but it gets me moving!

    i like to dance while i wash the dishes. just put on some music and shake your tush at the sink. emoticon

    When I fold laundry, I put the basket on the floor. Squat down grab an item, stand, fold, squat and put folded item in basket. stand, squat, gab another item and start all over....good way to get your exercising in and it doesnt take away from work you need to get done.

    Thanks for the ideas! And, standing up to do all those chores. I have found that paying bills, planning menus, reading, anything - if I stand up and keep moving (think walking in place, bending knees, up into toe stand and down), I get the chore done faster, enjoy it more and sneak in exercise. I also feel better after doing it.

    Agreed. I have turned my home into an indoor track emoticon
and do laps, walking figure 8s around cooking island in the kitchen,
chairs and ottoman in my office, coffee table and recliner in the living room.

    This is a great reminder! I focus on getting the chore done...need to reshift my focus to how can I get more exercise doing what I have to do!
