When I am cooking if I cook more servings than I need to eat it is just too tempting for me and I end up eating more than I should, even if I try to separate it out for the week and put it in the refridgerator, so instead I just cook one serving (Unless of course I am cooking for others as well.) This removes the temptation of eating extra food.

I have always cooked in bulk making full use of my freezer thinking I was being as economical as possible. I have found the more I cook, the more I eat so I've started weighing + cooking single portions. I find I am more likely to stay within my calorie range, not over-eat (my biggest downfall), so my food lasts me longer and less trips to the shops, and the bonus is smaller portions cook so much faster that even though you cook more often, overall, you use less gas and electricity. Result.
