I put my alarm clock across the room, so I have to get out of bed to turn it off. I also put my sneakers with a leash on top of the alarm clock so I have to move them to turn it off as well. By the time I get over to the alarm clock, and pick up my shoes to turn off the alarm clock, I'm wide awake from the alarm and now my shoes are in my hand, and a dangling leash. My dog takes that as a morning cue and gets me moving!
Motivation to get out of bed in the morning and get moving
I have moved my alarm clock from my bedside to across the room. That way I have to get it to turn it off. It also helps that I put my visual reminders and the motivational poster I made beside my clock so I will look at it each morning. That way I get up and going instead of going back to bed.
I've finally figured out that if I workout in the morning, I'm sure to get my workout in without excuses. So along with my wake up alarm clock, I set the alarm on my phone, eat breakfast, grab some water and get in my workout. No excuses or guess work.
