My friend and I take turns making interval workout challenges for each other for the week. We do the workouts on our own, but check in with each other. There's nothing like knowing your friend is completing the workouts to keep you motivated.....I certainly don't want to be the one who phones it in first! We check in with each other which keeps us accountable.

I started a workout challenge to stay active while at home. I called it the World Cup Challenge. Every day I changed the rules depending on my mood. On days I didn't feel like doing anything, I told myself, "Just do 10 minutes to complete today's challenge!" I kept this up for 32 days, the duration of the World Cup. Just enough time to make daily workouts a habit.
This method kept me moving while eliminating guilt if I felt like I couldn't meet certain goals, like running for an hour. This challenge also got me experimenting with other workouts.
It's January 1. I begin SparkPeople's 28 Day Bootcamp Workout Challenge today to re-motivate myself . I'm convinced that a 28-day challenge will be MY way to focus on accountability and jump start my New Year.
When you find yourself putting off your workout, challenge yourself to think of 3 valid reasons not to do it. It you can't then just GO as fast as you can before you can talk yourself out of it. You're not gonna turn back once in the car on the way to the gym. 20
