When I grocery shop, I take a list and then on a separate paper track the cost of everything I put in my cart. No more "But they said they wanted to be eaten" cookies or gummi bears.

In the 'organizer' option in your cell phone, you have a "Notes" option. Add a new note with your action items, grocery list, tasks, chores, etc. Save the note and in the options for the note, select "Show in stand by mode". This list will be displayed on your cell phone wallpaper.
This helps to stay on track with tasks, things I need to do, buy, follow-up on with regards to work or home, as reminder for anyone I have to call, etc
