If a person waits more than four hours to eat blood sugar drops, so snacking on the right foods will keep blood sugar balanced...Have a hard boiled egg, berries of all sorts, orange, apple, peach pear, plum...and I always have fruit, with 1 ounce of protein, like low fat cheese, yogurt, turkey, chicken as it blunts blood sugar rises. Yes I agree eat three meals...I eat three with 30 carbs and two snack with 15 carbs...works for me.

I have just started with Sparkpeople and I have found it quite interesting and informative. My problem with the 3 meals and 2 snacks a day is that I find it hard to fit all that eating into one day. I am currently unemployed and attending school. I try to keep up with the plan, but I forget and then I end up so hungry I find my self eating unhealthy. I have been trying to get my sugar levels down but it is hard. Any ideas to help me out?

I've recently added 2 snacks per day and this has helped me reduce my portion size at meals by 40 - 50% - overall I am now eating less and have more energy...no more post meal slump :)
