Before I start my treadmill workout in the morning, I take a few minutes to focus on what my daily/weekly goal is. Instead of watching the time (45 minutes more to go!), I ask myself how can I make my workout more affective? Since I am doing the time, I may as well reap the benefits.
Pump up the music! Use your arms to do weightless exercises, visualize what I will look/feel like in another week or two.
A few hours after the workout, I take the time to tap in to how I am feeling afterwards. Did my energy increase? Do I feel more alive? Am I proud of my accomplishment?
