I've found in the evening that I can power through that craving for a drink (wine, cocktail, etc.) by making myself a different, special drink, like tea, a smoothie, fresh juice, etc. You start to associate that with "unwinding" instead of alcohol and get hydrated and healthy, too.

Drinking hot tea (no sugar added) instead of soda or energy drinks with my meals kept me on target!
I took out my usual 140 cal soda or carbonated beverages and substituted it with green tea, Yogi slimming tea, and Sleeptime tea (for relaxing). It helped with my food digestion, and w/ no sugar added it cut about 320+ cals off. I also feel more healthy and this works great for the cold seasons!
A great way to relax? floating in the hot tub. Don't turn it up all the way, just warm enough to feel like a warm bath, get in to one of the "seat" areas, and lay back, close your eyes, let your feet float and relax. The built in seat keeps you from sinking and drowning, but you can still feel buoyed and "weightless". I find it a great way to totally relax.175
Do not drink alcohol before doing this, ever!
I used to always drink alcohol on "date night". Now I enjoy a "mocktail" made of Club Soda on the Rocks with a wedge of fresh lime. It has Zero Calories and no artificial sweeteners which always make me hungrier and thirstier. I feel like I'm enjoying a special drink - but so much healthier than alcohol.
Alcohol has 7 calories per gram. That adds up quick - not to mention the damage to your brain, nerves, and liver especially.
