I just read this... most regular blenders will accept Mason jars, so you can grind spices or your coffee beans into a Mason jar, and store right away. Simpler clean-up, no need for separate coffee or spice grinders, or to buy one of those 'bullet blenders'. It's also good to know if you happen to break the that jar/lid that comes with your blender. (see clarificiation in"more info", following comments rec'd.)
Clarification following comments: I take my blender's blades and screw them onto the jar, then screw that into the blender stand. Hopefully that's clear?
When I make a smoothie, I always end up making more than enough. So I get the extra smoothie and put it in ice cube trays then freeze it. Later, when I'm ready for a smoothie, I just throw those cubes into the blender to make it quick and easy.
I bought a Magic Bullet a month ago and I use it almost everyday. I use it mostly for making smoothies. I just dump everything in the big cup and it blends everything in like 30 seconds or less. Clean up is easy too..just wash the cup and the blade. I don't think I'd like using a full size blender only cuz I really dislike the cleaning part.
It's great for other stuff as well such as grinding spices, coffee, and chopping onions etc. Only thing I found that I dislike, it's not made for shredding cheese. It will get all clumped up.
