I teach kindergarten. At least twice a day (morning and after lunch), we take time for singing and movement. I like to pick songs that get us jumping, marching, stretching and other forms of body movement. Helps my little ones burn off some energy and helps me with my daily movement goals.
I learned this one from my sister (who was a kindergarten teacher). If a clothing stain has an oiliness to it (examples: tomatoes, oil based salad dressing), gently rub some Murphy's oil over the stain, then launder as usual. Do NOT put this article in the dryer...let it air dry. That way, if the stain needs another round of Murphy's oil (it rarely does by the way!), the dryers' heat won't have heat-set the stain. This product has saved many an article of clothing at my house over the years!
I get off track when things get busy: when school starts, holidays, etc. Learned this from my kindergarten daughter. I set out a good breakfast and set out my exercise clothes THE NIGHT BEFORE. Mornings won't require thinking and the day is already off to a good start.
I have a special zone in the fridge where I put the ingredients for my breakfast creations so I don't have to rummage around before my brain wakes up. Even if it's just the milk for cereal or an egg, having it decided and ready saves time so I can sleep in for just 5 minutes more!
