I had a previous iPhone app called LoseIt but it was becoming a problem because half the stuff I ate I had to enter manually because it wasn't out there. Rest assured with SparkPeople, almost EVERYTHING I put in my mouth someone else has shared before and it makes things so much easier. But people, please don't be lazy--enter ALL the specs not just calories -- it helps.

For me, too, this is THE application that makes all the work worth it. I've lost almost 30 lbs. now and I couldn't have done it without something to keep me accountable to myself.
You can't go wrong with the Nutrition Counter. It's one of many tools, but it is one of the most important ones.

It's tough trying to balance a lower calorie diet with foods that will give you the proper nutrients. It takes knowledge and committment and Sparkpeople helps with both. I'm on a journey from 227 lb. to 135 lb. I'm currently at 174 and I can honestly say that finding this site has been a blessing. It keeps me honest about what I REALLY put into my mouth.

If there was just one tool to use, Nutrition Tracker is it. Keeps me honest along knowing where I need to make adjustments. I used and excel sheet at one time to track and it was cumbersome since I had to look up the calories manually.

This has really kept me on target with my calories. I like being accountable and I'm on the computer so much that it's easy and quick. I've been able to look up all kinds of things online instead of guessing like I might have if I were writing with pen and paper.

I am finding the Nutrition Tracker very helpful too. I've been using it for a week or so. I do have a problem when I want to enter, say, 1/4 cup or 1/2 cup of milk? Can someone help me? Sometimes it will say grams, but this is too confusing for me. I don't see ozs. on some of these foods? Thanks!

I am new to this site and I am having trouble tracking my foods if I substitute something. For example, I like to eat my dinner leftovers for lunch another day, but I am having trouble figuring out how to find and import that info to another days log. Any suggestions?

Great comments here. Groupings can be used for full meals, or just one multi-ingredient item, such as a PBJ sandwich or chef salad. After adding my bedtime snack, I like to check out the full report. I'm usually aghast at places sodium can hide!

The difference between using the Nutrition Tracker is that there is no commercial company encouraging me to eat pre-packaged foods full of cardboard and chemicals. This site encourages eating whole foods, which is the healthier choice and; one gets to see how their favorite foods and recipes can be eaten within reason, re-training the body to what is the right amount to eat. And what's the healthier choice. Love it.

I love the Nutrition Tracker. It helps me to stay on course, and I can see where I need to cut back or add to certain areas. I especially like the menues and daily meal planning. The shopping list that goes with each week's meal is a great help, too!
