To lose weight, if you eat a carb, like an apple, also eat a protein like light string cheese. This will help keep you full longer, stabilize blood sugar and increase metabolism. Best wishes!

Agree! When I was pregnant with my second, I had pre-pre-gestational diabetes (my wake up blood sugar was between 90-100/all others were fine, but they like wake up to be below 90) .... anyway, so I met with an endocrinologist to work to prevent Gestational Diabetes .... This was her recommendationg too!!! Never a carb without a protein!! Helps your body use the carbs and not just store them as fat!

Neufchatel cheese instead of cream cheese
I eat lower carb to control Type 2 diabetes (successfully!). My breakfast is frequently 2 bran wafers with cheese. I discovered that Neufchatel cheese is very similar to cream cheese but lower calories and fat. For a 2 Tablespoon serving, Neufchatel Cheese: 80 cal, 1 carb, 6 Fat, 2 Protein. Cream Cheese: 101 Cal, 1 carb, 10 Fat, 2 Protein
The downside is that neufchatel can be difficult to find. My local Giant carries their own generic brand next to the cream cheese.
