When you wake up in the mornings, get dressed from head to toe. Put on your shoes. (Yes.. this means wearing them in the house!) Think about it.. Once we put our shoes on we are on the go. I know I'd hate to put my feet up on the furniture to relax with shoes on. Don't take your shoes off until you are ready to relax for the night.
You could try buying a cheap pair to wear around home if you don't want to wear the shoes you wear outside in your house.

A lot of towns have streets and neighborhoods done up with holiday lights through the month of Dec (like Candy Cane Lane, Christmas Tree Lane, etc) instead of driving to look at the lights walk the lanes! Load your mp3 player with holiday music, put on those walking shoes and hit the road! :o)
Some of these Holiday neighborhoods have special nights just for walkers, and other have sidewalks to help keep walkers safe.
I once heard someone on public radio say that if you just put your running/walking shoes on and get out the door or on your treadmill, the rest will follow. Even if you have to tell yourself it's only for 5 minutes, you'll find that just getting going, will get it done!
