I bought a plastic glass that I really like, and also a pitcher that holds 64 ounces. In the morning, I fill the pitcher with ice water, and the glass with ice and take them to my desk. Now fresh cold water is always at hand, and I enjoy drinking it all day. And I know I can get my 8 glasses in.

I used to filter my water in the a.m. and then let it sit all day at room temp before going to the gym. I found that if I chilled the water in my office fridge during the day and then took it to the gym, I'd drink more of it chilled than not.
Take a 2 litre bottle into your office with you, such as an old soda bottle, and keep it tucked under your desk. Fill it up every morning before you start your day and aim to empty it by the end of the day. This way, you will know you've drank your 2 litres and won't have to keep track of how many smaller glasses you've had.
I work in a particularly longish office. I work at the front of the office and our water cooler is in the back of the office. I bring a 1 litre bottle and fill it up and make a point to refil my glass almost hourly.
It takes me approximately 60 steps from my office chair and back. Not a lot, but at least my chair isn't glued to my butt and I'm getting my required water intake for the day.
