Tell Yourself All You Have To Do Is 5 Minutes At The Gym

A lot of times it's really hard to find the motivation to go to the gym. You find yourself visualizing the grueling workout you have planned for yourself and it keeps you stuck in your bed/on the couch. When I'm feeling unmotivated, I tell myself I will go to the gym but I'll only do 5 minutes. Then after the first 5 I will re-evaluate and decide if I want to add more. Of course I end up doing an entire workout every time, the trick is just getting there in the first place!

I workout at home a lot and my way of getting my workouts in is to just commit to the first 5 minutes. Even if you dont feel like it just tell yourself "Im only doing 5 minutes and if I still doing feel like working out I'll turn it off" Every time that I've done that I end up doing the whole video. Once you get through the warm up section time just flies by because you're having fun. :)
There are some days when you just don't feel like going, no matter what you tell yourself. I've found that a good way to counteract this is by telling myself that I will go to the gym and do something easy for just 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes I still don't want to be there then I'll allow myself to go home, however, usually once I'm there I figure "Why not 10 more?" and then it keeps going until I've completed my full workout. 321
Seriously this works every time. If I just don't feel like hitting the GYM I tell myself, "I'm just going to walk or do 10 minutes". Toss on your work out clothes and shoes & go out the door. I hit the gym and I am always excited that I pull through and do an amazing workout/run. I am NEVER beating myself up for going only if I don't at all!
