The best thing to keep myself from mindless snacking whether healthy food or very unhealthy food is to keep my mind and body busy. I write in a journal, I read a book, I exercise, I play with my kids, paint or draw, working on the house were rebuilding or simply yard work. But unless I'm busy, I eat when I'm not hungry.
