Easy Corn On The Cob

This Sparked Me!

I tried out the method for cooking corn on the cob recommended by a friend... and boy is it a winner. You cook the corn in the microwave. Just put the corn in the microwave oven right in the husk and zap it for 4 minutes per cob. Take it out (use an oven mitt.. it will be HOT), cut off the end (where it was attached to the stalk) and then just shake the corn out of the husk. It will slide out without a problem and NO SILK attached. It was yummy too.. no fuss... no mess.

I have prepared corn on the cob in the microwave for years. However, I do remove the corn from the husk, rinse it (the leftover water provides some moisture), and cover it with a good quality saran wrap. I cook it for about 2 minutes per cob. Comes out very good.

If you have an oven mitt or just a towel you can grab the end of the corn (after you cut off the stalk end) and squeeze just a bit, it helps pull the silk off. This is a great time saver .
