For every 25 grams of carbohydrates you eat, you burn 5 calories. For every 11 grams of fat you eat, you burn 5 calories. You burn 1 calorie for every gram of protein you eat. Sparkpeople does not factor in this when it calculates how many calories you need a day. I like to calculate this at the end of the day to know that i burnt more calories than i thought! emoticon
