For every 25 grams of carbohydrates you eat, you burn 5 calories. For every 11 grams of fat you eat, you burn 5 calories. You burn 1 calorie for every gram of protein you eat. Sparkpeople does not factor in this when it calculates how many calories you need a day. I like to calculate this at the end of the day to know that i burnt more calories than i thought!

I work in a bookstore and I have a chance to check out whatever book I want for two weeks at a time. I actually bought this book though. The top foods in a category have a red star by them. There are info boxes at the end of articles-many of them indicate whether the food is on top ten most effected or least effected by pesticides lists. It helps you decide which fruits you need to buy organic and which are probably okay as is.
